How to use this tool

Enter an IPv4 address and CIDR prefix to calculate the network address, subnet mask, broadcast and host range. Use the host table to document device names and roles.

Worked example

A 192.168.1.0/24 network contains 256 addresses and conventionally supports 254 usable hosts. Check the special handling of /31 point-to-point links and /32 host routes.

Interpreting the result

The calculator does not scan your network for available addresses. Check VLANs, DHCP pools, routing and reservations before applying the address plan.
